Welcome to Strenger i Gress Bluegrass festival 2023

We are delighted to invite you to a unique and atmospheric festival, the biggest of its kind in Norway. With the help of enthusiastic volunteers, we work to foster the bluegrass spirit. Norwegian bluegrass bands deserve a dedicated stage and audience, and we have many exciting bands in this year’s line-up. In addition to the concerts, there will be a bluegrass camp, jams, and workshops on all instruments as well as vocals, and on Saturday we invite newcomers as well as experienced pickers to perform at the open stage event. 

This year’s festival takes place from Monday 10. July to Sunday 16. July at Gulsrud close to Vikersund. Gulsrud is located by the idyllic Tyrifjorden, a little over one hour’s drive from Oslo, and has both indoor lodging and a tent site outside.

Strenger i gress is the Bluegrass festival that refused to die. We continue the heritage from the legendary Risør bluegrass festival, which was a meeting point for bluegrass enthusiasts and acoustic musicians for a number of years. With workshops, jams and concerts, the festival is a bluegrass lover’s dream come true.
